There is a prayer chain operating within the Church community through which several people offer prayer for those who need them, both at home and overseas. Please contact our minister Rev Doreen Koffie-Williams if you would like to have prayer offered for anyone or anything. If you would like to pray now, the Methodist Church website offers a topical daily prayer with associated bible readings.
Family Occasions
BaptismsWe are pleased to be involved in those special times of life like the birth of a baby, a marriage, even the passing of loved ones. The minister is very happy to talk to new parents about baptising their baby. This usually takes place as part of morning service (10.30am) and then the family can stay and enjoy a cup of coffee after the service.
WeddingsThe church makes a light, attractive and comfortable setting for a wedding. Check us out as a convenient local venue with easy access to venues for the reception.
Funerals and Memorial ServicesGive your loved ones a Christian funeral in a relaxed and peaceful setting. You can sing their favourite hymns and songs before going on to the crematorium or cemetery.
Our Sunday weekly services start at 10.30 am and last for about an hour. Sometimes they are led by our Minister, Rev Doreen Koffie-Williams, and on other occasions we have visiting preachers from Coventry and Nuneaton, and sometimes from further afield. You would be made very welcome at any Sunday service. If you would like to see the worship plan for the next few weeks, please touch orclick on this button:
As a Christian community we are committed to sharing God's love in the Woodside area and beyond. Worshipping together each Sunday lies at the heart of all that we do. We see it as a privilege to offer praise and thanks to God through Jesus Christ. We see it as our responsibility to love and care for each other, especially as we go through difficult times. We see this care as going beyond the church family and into wider areas. We offer ourselves in service to others in many ways, locally and further afield and not least byoffering our premises as a community resource, for the many and varied activities that take place here.

Circuit News for April 2024Please send any news or events happening in your church Circuit Office office@covnunmethodist.org.ukA message from Jill Marsh:It is a pleasure to be sending this month's circuit newsletter and we are going to try a monthly newsletter for a while to see how that goes.Any feedback will be appreciated. We may miss some events if we don't have them ahead so, please bear that in mind when you are sending advertising to the office. Thank you.I hope that you all had a good Holy Week and Easter weekend. It is, of course, still the Easter Season! We have so much to thank God for... and not least that God is with us as the Risen Christ... through all the changes of life including endings and deaths... nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ! With that in mind, I wanted everybody in the circuit to know that the circuit budget, which is currently being set, is a deficit budget (which can only continue for one more year) and that the income we need for next year is still £65,000 short despite moving from 5 to 4 ministers for 2024-25. We do not need to fear this, but we need to face it together and to look for new patterns of finance, ministry and mission. It reminds me of Wesley's "Earn all you can, save all you can and give all you can". This is a challenge in today's financial situation... but nothing is impossible with God. I am confident that God has a future for us and am looking forward to us working out what it will look like! Please pray for our circuit churches' treasurers and for our retiring circuit treasurer, Mike Hobbs, and our incoming circuit treasurer, Alastair McCullough, as we meet to talk and agree on next year's finances, later this month.Rev. Jill Marsh28th April 2024 Inter Generational Church, IGC, Worship at 4.00pm, online (flyer here) PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE. This quarter the IGC, planned for on the 28th April, is meeting online. Hopefully, this will make it easier for families to attend - and we don't mind if you're eating your tea! There will be fellowship, a Bible story for discussion, prayer and games. You may be involved with Children's Work already, but if you're a church steward please forward this to any families with children (toddlers to teens) in your congregation. Carol Joyce Jennings (25 March 1954 - 29 March 2024)Some of you will know that Carol Jennings, wife of Rev Stuart Jennings in this circuit, has been an inspiring advocate for those with early onset Alzheimer's and has been the Vice-President of the Alzheimer's Society in recognition for her contribution to the research of this disease. As a Local Preacher Carol lived out her faith and lived in passionate pursuit of learning that would help others in the future. There are films that you can watch about Carol online, and one is here at the following link...https://www.bbc.co.uk/ideas/videos/how-one-woman-transformed-alzheimers-research/p05wy4bwFriday 26th April 2024 at 12:00 NoonThe funeral of Carol will take place at Woodside Methodist Church, Coventry on Friday 26 April 2024 at 12:00 noon followed by Cremation at 1:30pm.
